Many people want to write, whether it’s a blog, a book, a musical composition, or an annual Christmas letter. But where do you begin?
This week I had the privilege of serving on an author roundtable for the podcast The Daily Writer, hosted by Kent Sanders.
Kent, Eric, and I are all musician/authors, and we were joined by my fellow inspirational author Mary Felkins. I was the newbie of the group, but was thrilled to glean tips from these veteran authors and creatives!
Listen to our tips of the trade in the Q&A episode for November 17, 2020.
For more from these amazing authors, definitely check out their books. I’ve highlighted three of my favorites (all of which I purchased myself and listened to on audiobook.) They’re also available on Kindle and in hard copy as well. (Affiliate links included.) Great Christmas gifts for the readers in your life!
Hi, I’m Kent. I’m a writer, college professor, and guitarist. I created this blog for people just like you—artists and writers who are looking for resources, tips, and practical inspiration to fulfill their creative calling.
Michelangelo once said, “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” I’m here to help you chip away the excess and give you wings to fly with creative freedom.
I write a couple of articles per week, usually focusing on some aspect of writing or the creative process. Creativity is a broad subject and it touches every aspect of our lives. That’s why you’ll find posts related to writing, productivity, attitude, relationships, movies and the arts, and much more.

My passion? Writing. Since I first learned to scribble stories on notebook paper while crazy ideas streamed in my day-dreamy brain. In my former career as a Dietitian, I wrote most of my own teaching material. My first “published” work was in junior high. That baby even had chapters, illustrations drawn in colored marker, and my own logo.
After a few years’ coaching with My Book Therapy, my current novel was published with Pelican Book Group. The genre is inspirational romance, of course, because the world needs more happily ever afters. Mary’s Books
